On May 22, 2025, the Global Youth Development Alliance (GYDA) was honored to attend and support the opening of the special exhibition “Everlasting Vitality: The Palace Museum at the United Nations”, held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

Co-hosted by the Palace Museum and the Permanent Mission of China to the UN, the exhibition celebrates the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Palace Museum. It brought together over 120 ambassadors and representatives from international organizations to experience the enduring beauty and cultural depth of one of the world’s most iconic institutions.

A highlight of the event was the unveiling of a special commemorative stamp issued by the United Nations Postal Administration (UNPA)—marking the first time the UN has released a postal sheet dedicated to a single museum in conjunction with International Museum Day. The stamp sheet reflects not only the Palace Museum’s global recognition, but also the growing significance of cultural diplomacy in international relations.

The event was further supported by the UN SDG & Leadership Development Centre, whose presence underscored the exhibition’s broader relevance to cultural sustainability, inclusive dialogue, and cross-cultural exchange.

As part of its ongoing mission to connect youth with global institutions, GYDA sees cultural engagement as a vital channel for fostering deeper understanding in a complex geopolitical landscape. Attending this milestone event reaffirmed our belief that heritage and innovation are not in opposition—but part of the same global conversation.
