As part of its ongoing national education reform, the Ministry of Preschool and School Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan has launched a new International Chinese Teacher Recruitment Program, entrusting the Global Youth Development Alliance (GYDA) to identify and recommend qualified candidates from China.
Background: Uzbekistan’s National Education Strategy
Uzbekistan is accelerating a nationwide education transformation, positioning high-quality education and teacher development as core pillars of its national strategy. On 9 July 2025 in Tashkent, the Ministry of Preschool and School Education signed a cooperation agreement with UNESCO to strengthen teacher education and enhance the quality of basic education across the country. This milestone underscores Uzbekistan’s commitment to global cooperation and its growing demand for qualified international educators, including Chinese language teachers.
Program Overview
Under this initiative, GYDA will support the Ministry in recruiting full-time Chinese language teachers from China. In November 2025, GYDA officially signed an MOU with the Ministry of Preschool and School Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Selected teachers will sign employment contracts directly with the Ministry and serve in public middle and high schools across Uzbekistan, supporting the country’s expanding Chinese language education landscape and broader goals for multilingual, globally aware students.
Teaching Roles & Talent Development
Chinese teachers recruited through this program will contribute to multiple dimensions of Uzbekistan’s education reform: delivering Chinese language instruction, facilitating cultural exchange, and supporting the enhancement of local teaching capacity. Candidates are expected to bring strong academic preparation, cross-cultural adaptability, and a genuine motivation to contribute to international education development.
The Ministry will provide competitive compensation, housing and medical benefits, and comprehensive administrative support. Detailed information on responsibilities, eligibility criteria, and benefits is available through the official application portal and accompanying brochure.
