Bangkok, Thailand — August 21–22, 2025 — The Global Youth Development Alliance (GYDA) participated in the International Youth Forum 2025 at the United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC), joining diplomats, UN officials, academics, and youth leaders to advance dialogue on human rights and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Hosted in partnership with the Sustainable Development Council and supported by UN agencies, the two-day program featured keynote speeches, thematic panels, interactive workshops, and the formal adoption of the International Youth Forum Youth Declaration.

Amplifying Youth Leadership on SDGs

Opening sessions included addresses by senior UN representatives and ambassadors, setting the tone for evidence-based policymaking and inclusive local action. Keynotes highlighted digital connectivity and inclusive telecom policy, youth leadership in disaster preparedness and climate resilience, and public–private partnership models that move beyond philanthropy toward long-term impact.

GYDA’s Contribution

As active participants, GYDA representatives shared youth-driven perspectives on the intersection of human rights, ethical innovation, and local SDG implementation. GYDA emphasized:

  • Empowering grassroots innovation and entrepreneurship to drive measurable SDG progress.
  • Designing inclusive policies and financing frameworks that unlock youth-led initiatives.
  • Leveraging digital tools and AI responsibly to advance human rights and sustainable development.

Key Highlights from the Forum

  • Youth & AI for Good — experts from UNDP, industry, and civil society explored ethical innovation for human rights and SDGs.
  • Inclusive Cities, Informed Citizens — panels connected education, law, and local governance to protect rights and strengthen community action.
  • Gender Equality — policies and actions to accelerate SDG progress were examined with youth advocates and researchers.
  • Interactive Workshops — breakout sessions on rule of law, climate action, and SDG innovation equipped youth with practical tools.
  • Youth Declaration — participants endorsed a shared commitment to equality, inclusion, and sustainability.

Toward Inclusive and Sustainable Futures

The forum underscored that local SDG action requires coherent policy, accessible finance, and community participation to ensure that no one is left behind. GYDA will continue collaborating with UN agencies, governments, and civil society partners to connect investment, innovation, and community impact—amplifying youth voices in multilateral decision-making.
